Military Order of the Purple Heart Services Foundation, Inc. Endowed Scholarship

The Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation and the College Financial Aid Office are pleased to announce the availability of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc. Endowed Scholarship.

To be eligible for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc. Endowed Scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

• Recipient must be an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, or Coast Guard) or spouse of a deceased honorably discharged veteran, unless and until he/she remarries a non-veteran
• Recipient must be placed in a Business, Computer Science and Information Technology, Engineering and Applied Technologies, Health Sciences, Education and Public Services program of study
• Recipient must be enrolled full-time or part-time
• Recipient must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0
• Preference will be given to Purple Heart medal recipient and/or their spouses.

Applicants must attach the following documentation to the scholarship application:

• Veterans military discharge form (WD-AGO 53-55) or equivalent
• Proof of marriage to a veteran (for spouses only)
• Purple Heart recipients (or their spouse) – must attach a copy of the Purple Heart Certificate for preference consideration
